Spring Poetry Contest Winners
Thank you to everybody who took part in our Spring Poetry Contest.
Here are the winners:
5th Place
Sasha, who didn’t give a location, used our Love Poem Generator to create this poem full of rich, springtime imagery.
For a Lovely Spring Flower
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
A lake is lovely,
And so are you.
Orchids are white,
Ghost ones are rare,
My world is sunlit,
And so is your hair.
Magnolia grows,
With buds like eggs,
The trees are skinny,
And so are your legs.
Sunflowers reach,
Up to the skies,
A sunlight is dazzling,
And so are your eyes.
Foxgloves in hedges,
Surround the farms,
Your voice is soft,
And so are your arms.
Daisies are pretty,
Daffies have style,
Fire is cheery,
And so is your smile.
Flowers are beautiful,
Just like you.
4th Place
We love this poem by Kimberly from Crooks in South Dakota, which reminds her of when she went to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas last summer. It was created using our Haiku Generator.
Sun
Burning summertime
A low, windy sun breezes
because of the heat
3rd Place
Another haiku that we love is this one, by Yukukoyamada1 from Traralgon.
Petal
Undisturbed summer
A crimson, sweet petal twirls
whilst watching the street
2nd Place
We enjoyed this haiku by Cole from Eastgate, because it reminded us that whilst spring can sometimes be icy, it is starting to provide hope for many creatures.
Ant
Biting afternoon
A tiny, joyful ant snorts
enjoying the flies
1st Place
Our favourite poem with this haiku by Camila from Frisco:
Waves
Sandy serene beach
A short, beautiful wave falls
into the surfer
